Memories of the Past
Craft Shows
Many years ago, I participated in fall craft shows held in the local high school! What a time! Lots of work all year to get enough inventory to sell during the shows. I actually did 3-4 every year.
At that time I was known as The Patchwork Ark. During the year I would make, teddy bears, dolls, quilts and lots and lots of ornaments! At that time I painted, so lots of ornaments were painted!
My husband and I would get up at 0 dark thirty (after packing the car the night before) and drive to the school!. Unpacked the car, lots of trips were required. Then we had a couple of hours to set up all the shelves and the trees. Then, put all of the products on the shelves and decorate the trees. I am glad I did not have a lot of breakable things because it was easy to drop something when in a hurry to be set up. Sometimes, the customers would begin coming through a bit early and it was a challenge to check them out and finish the space!
I kind of miss the interaction with my customers, but as I get older, the thought of the process makes me tired! Do you attend craft shows in your local area?
